Lights that can strobe 1/24 frame of a second

That is an animated gif file.

You would need a light which could sync with the shutter like still photo strobes.

Or use a camera without a rolling shutter.

Yeah this was shot with an Alexa XT, as far as I know that is a rolling shutter.

Ok, this could be done with a "Lighting strike 8k". But I do not see them anywhere for sale, does anybody have any recommendations?

Thanks!

Got any other links to that clip? I'm seeing a GIF which is horrendously jerky and, without knowing the context or where it cam from, could easily have been done stop-motion style with a still camera and photography flashes.

Yeah could not find a better example, but I need to film it, not fake it in post.
Was thinking of buying a beamer and trying with that, not sure if that would work.

you can get a simple timer, triggered/synched by the video output of the camera.
you can find for very cheap a video pulse extractor (the chip LM1881N cost 3$ per five piece)
You are interested by the Vsync that is the start of each picture
once you got the pulse you can trigger anything (preferrably a led light that is fast and powerful)
syncseparator.gif
then you can use a simple 555 chip that will convert the pulse into a longer pulse (monostable)
for the full picture duration
and eventually another 555 that will allow to skip n pulses to get a slower strobe.
