lightning strike effect on wide shot

If the shot i'm after was a closeup or medium shot - there would be a plenty of options for realistic looking lightning strike but on a wider shot - where the building i need to "strike" is around 75ft away from the light it's much more complex. So... Anyone can suggest a solution for lightning strike light? I tried a bunch of synced prophotos but they strobe the image of my c300 mark ii.

Super silly? lighten a couple of frames in post?

There are lightening strick SFX lights of course.

Or a global shutter shot with your pro fotos.?

Some years back, for a scene that encompassed a large area I was only allowed to rent a single Lightning Strike unit which wasn't enough so I had to get creative...we used a couple of 10K's with the shutter accessory, which are old-school but work quite well. And for the final area of the set, I had a local spot welder strike his plate just around the corner so the sparks weren't seen on camera but the flash was. Oddly enough it worked.

These days I'd be inclined to gang together some Skypanels, they make a pretty convincing lightning gag.

So i ended up renting a few 8k Paparazzi lights. It worked ok - the two 8k units weren't powerful enough to light the buildings efficiently but thankfully the rain that we anticipated made the atmosphere so moody that lightning wasn't needed so we ended up the light to simulate another effect.
