Lighting Workshop in the LA area?

[mdslammer]

Anyone know of some 2-3 day lighting seminars or workshops offered in the
Los Angeles area? I took a lighting class a while back and want to further my
knowledge about lighting.

Thanks in advance.

Larry Parker at Mole Richardson does classes for local schools/programs (AFI, LA Film School, etc.) While you can't officially attend the classes, you can volunteer to help. Email info@mole.com and ask for the new stage manager's email and get a schedule from him.

I helped out once and learned an insane amount in one day.

Mike Rogers at Birns & Sawyer has seminars every few months. also, most expos has lighting workshops if i recall. ie: HD Expo, DV Expo, Cinegear, etc....

If you are really interested, email the stage manager corwin.nunes@mole.com . He will put you on a list and notify you when classes are coming in. They also do more then local classes. Film schools from all around the world come in. I've been there for schools from all across America, Europe and Asia.
