All credit given to wife please! I was telling her what I needed and she knew just the thing! It really does work well because of the afformentioned hieght adjustabiltity, and indeed they dont look cheesy....just ghetto.

Re: Lighting with 1000 watt work lights

Could one of you guys post a still of the infamous "Portable Garment Rack" so I can get the right one, versus a "porta-pottie"

Thanx

Re: Lighting with 1000 watt work lights

Yea, I'll definately post some stills as soon as I have them and I'll post the whole thing once its done. I've actually got 2 other videos coming up as well. Thanks again everybody for the feedback.

Re: Lighting with 1000 watt work lights

Try using one of your rigs as a front light, and the other two as back edges (one one either side, behind the band, shooting back toward you. You might not have to diffuse the back lights, and for a music video, you might like the flares/edge lights.

Re: Lighting with 1000 watt work lights

Anyone have a different way of hanging diffusers in front of these lights? I'm sure the garment racks work well, but they don't seem to be very portable. Perhaps I'm thinking of someting different. Anyway, I've thought of hanging them from boom mic stands (I have one already). Just haven't had time to test it as I spent the weekend trying to salvage a crashed hard drive. Good times.

BTW, the Photoflex panels over DIY frames seem to work great. Although it's hard to test when I have to hold them in place. Ha!

I use boom mic stands like mini c-stands all the time. They can't supprt much weight when the boom is horizontal, but they should help you out for this.
