Lighting two people riding bikes

Shoot the director ?

Go the other way?

Panda eyes is going to be the problem

Talent could wear shades

Different approaches if it a romantic couple or two racing cyclists (harsh light fits the latter)

CU they could have some silver board on the handlebars etc

I imagine you could rig up something to hold a reflector on another bike without too much difficulty.

Why does it have to be the sun in their face? That's the worst possible angle to shoot on unless you have some kind of massive silk to reduce the sunlight. Have the sun backlight them during magic hour and you're done, no need for light or reflector which would cause obvious issues as they go in and out of the beam anyway.

If you have to shoot in the middle of the day, you should try to let the actors bike in a direction so that the light is most flattering-preferably an angle where the sun is hitting their hair and shoulders
and not their faces-if that's possible. If it's not possible, you'll need some lighting/reflection to light up the actor's eye sockets. Sometimes-even with bounced light- it's distracting to see only the actor's
eye sockets dark. You could possibly have them wear some type of hat, and then shoot/bounce light up under the brims of the hats. I've seen that done many times.

They're Mormons.

They don't need to bike into the sun, I just thought that more light would expose the faces more. I guess that was incorrect.

So this magical time - I want the sun bouncing off the shoulders and hair? From behind them a bit?

Then light/reflect their face, right?

Thanks, sorry, I am sure this is all basic stuff but I'm trying to learn.
