Lighting setup

Hi

I've been asked for an specific lighting setup. It takes place in a house living room. The special thing of this setup is that i need a really defined shaft of light coming from a window and going through the room lighting up a person. something like a god ray

I own a 300w par 56, 300w open face,a theater 1000w fresnel and 3 small par 30(75). I also own a small smoke machine (if useful)

How could I achieve the desired effect with those lights?

i'm not a pro, but this one seems like a straigh-forward one so i'll try...
i'm guessing you can stick one of the lights outside the window .. put a little bit of smoke in the room to create a fine haze, use a curtain or muselin or whatever on teh window to block out most of the light.. or enough taht the "god ray" will be visible, cut a small hole or slit , or open the curtains a little bit and play with the light height and such to get it to point where you need it to go - depending on how much light you need, seems like the 1k fresnel would do the job nicely

I would use the 1k with a snoot and blast that through the window. If you need to make it mimic daylight/sunray, you will need to use some CTB gel which will diminish it's output somewhat.

thanks for the inputs. I'll try both.

I'd use the Theatre 1k. It has a much more defined pattern.
Ok, i was thinking about that in full spot mode. I also heard that the par with a vnsp lamp would do the job.
