This is a seminar (one speaker room full of people)

Here is the layout of the place, nothing has been fully decided (as far as where we will setup)
but this is the lay out and look of the place:

Figure I use the left side in this picture to put the speaker (Look below for more images).

Dim all the lights use the row of lights above him (as hair light) shine 2 650's with a little tough spun towards just the speaker.

Gel another two 650's behind him to create the RAW organic feel he wants (seminar is on health and eating more healthy).

Help me with any necessary adjustments (I want the footage to as great USING THE HPX 170 / 200A / 200)

This will be down converted and burnt to DVD.

I understand the wanting to break up the background with some color and that's done quite often, but I'm not sure I would personally use green, red or yellow when the topic is health and eating healthy. I wonder whether some kind of cookie/gobo pattern projected on the wall with regular white light might be better? Perhaps some others will give their opinions but I find it hard to think of an appropriate color for this instance. Even blue seems somewhat out of place and all these color gels seem to create a moody kind of setting that doesn't seem right for the topic. Perhaps a lighter color even then a deep one. However, if they chose that color and don't want argument, then perhaps you're locked in and can't do much about it though.

lol.....got a point there! :zombie_smiley:
how about treating the speaker area as if it was a stage, get them up high and to the sides. Might pull that table forward and break up that background with one or two potted plants behind and to the sides where nobody will walk into them? just guessing here.

on second thought, if that corner table really is the speakers position, get him out of that corner.

Well no tables will be there this is just days before the event we wont have the place till Sunday
there is an event Saturday night till 12am So we have to get in there around 8am

It will just be seating chairs and the speaker...

What's wrong with green (too harsh?)
Remember how noisy red is?

It was just my initial reaction which I usually go with when I'm doing something. Something about the topic and the colors on the wall behind the speaker seem to not mix well, but perhaps thats just me.

I don't know how important it really is to have the wall evenly lit with color or not. I see so many seminars where its totally black behind the speaker up on a stage. Particularly if video's being taken for use in reselling the topic as a product for the speaker. The technique of putting up some color gelled light behind a person is used a lot on interviews but then, the person isn't moving around in a large area. Someone seated and then some vague pattern/design/colors behind the person that are attractive but not too busy to take away from what the person is saying. Your speaker is moving around a stage (probably) and the camera will be following them so its a bit different idea than in interview--a lecture on a serious topic.

If you really want to have light on the wall, why not break it up a bit using a cookie/gobo in front of the fresnel to put some kind of pattern up. You can make one yourself using random designs cut out of black foil, light gauge metal or even cardboard as long as you don't place it too close to the light. The 650's work fine for that kind of thing.
