Lighting Scenario Advice

Hey guys,

Trying to light these two scenes for a music video in September and wanted some advice. I do have access to some pretty powerful lights (rental house) so throw out whatever suggestions you got.

The scenario would be a small band (about 5 to 6 musicians) an artists, instruments and a few people standing around the edges, and everyone would be dressed in all-white (white party theme). One is a night exterior and the other would be a night interior. I'm more interested in lighting the wide shots (I've got the closeups already covered). The interiors has lots of outlets while the exterior is going to need a generator of sorts (or really long stingers).

I'm trying to decide between the two so as I said before, any advice is much appreciated!

P.S. Also, that is not me.

for the open patio, i would hang a crap load of chinese lanterns and possibly put some spots way high in the back with blue gels for a slight back light emulating the moon. it would be your artistic choice to show the chinese lanterns in the shot or not. another option might be is to light the musicians with diffused spots while keeping everything else dark and gently light the background, people etc. with very soft accents. my terminology might not be correct, but i think you get the idea.
