Lighting Kits

Hey Everybody,

I'm getting ready to shoot my first feature-length no-budget horror film and need some advice on lighting kits. I have roughly $1000 to spend on a lighting kit and need advice on what to get.

I'd like to get something I can use in-doors and out and something that's quick and easy to make adjustments to.

Any suggestions would be gretly appreciated!

Thanks,
Mike

For that amount go with Britek lights. You'll find a thread around here somewhere that gives information on a DVXuser discount and user reviews on the lights.

Just something that got my attention lately:

You know a light kit is not for this right? A light kit is made for lighting small interview setups and maybe some full shots of some host. A Kit won't get you confortably through an entire feature. Not meant to rain in your parade. If you still think you are ingenious enough to pull it off with only an interview kit, Good luck, it is certainly better than nothing, and many great films were done with even less.

I just wanted to put things in perspective...

Hmm... Very good point taubkin. I may just do what I've done with my last 3 short films, wing the lighting. Oddly enough I've been very good with my results on very little cash.

Thanks for the input.
