Lighting Kit Help

I am looking to purchase a light kit for sit-down documentary interviews. I currently have a Litepanels mini mounted on my XH A1 for run-n-gun. Would it be possible to use the litepanels as a key and then just purchase two additional lights for fill and background?

I was looking at the Lowel DV Creator 1 for a complete kit. Should I buy the complete kit even though I shelled out the $$$ for a potential key in the litepanel mini?

Any thoughts or kit recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

3 point lighting with a fixture mounted to the camera? You wont get much of a key angle from this setup.

Depending on the mood you're trying to create you can use a Photoflex disc or a piece of foam core board as a bounce card (reflecting the key) and avoid the fill light all togetner. Then the only additional light you would need would be a back.

I would buy indv. lights and stands, throw in a flex fill, a few dimmers and gels throw it all in a portabrace (or other brand) lighting case. This type of kit can grow with you.
