Tomorrow I am shooting a scene that is supposed to take place at night on the street. I will be shooting it in my garage with a stationary car. Any suggestions on how to light/frame/ mod the car so It will look like its at night and get good lighting on the people/car?

thanks so much!!

Im guessing they're oustide the car then right?

What Ive seen in productions..atleast one that i walked on and a car scene was being shot. They wet the entire street...then had really bright lights really high up in the air shine down on the car to create moonlight.

then for the characters they had some softboxes next to them off camera.

hope that helps..

I use taplights, the kind that you can buy at Home depot. If you want oncoming head lights use a worklight on a swivel in front of your actors. If they are stationary, the tap lights should do the trick.

I'm not exactly sure what they did, but a scene in X-Men 2 (where they're driving to Iceman's parents home) was done with a car in a garage. I believe they just put a little soft blue light through the window, and had grips walk around the car with lights on occasion.
