Lighting for green and yellow style.

For a short I'm directing soon I want to have a matrix/se7en look to it in color. Basically the walls being green, lamps being yellow, and skin tones still decent. General filters like Magic Bullet can't really do this because they tint everything, but I was curious if anyone had any tips.

I can't gel everything because we have huge windows in the main location during daylight scenes (where the outside air should look green).

I'm pretty sure they just tinted everything in the Matrix and se7en. Check this out...

Compare the still image to the clip. Magic Bullet is more than enough for that. Are you trying for something like this...

That's an entirely different. In the movie Domino, they did some unusual stuff with the film when they were developing it. Does Magic Bullet have any "cross process" presets? If not, does something like this help?

Good luck.

You can also use the hue/saturation in AE to retain the skin tones. You'll want to place it above your color correction plug-in. For caucasian skin tones you'll work with the yellow channel. Take the yellow hue wheel to like +7 and the saturation to around 60-70. Then apply your color correction below that and desaturate to say...40-50ish. You can also do this in Magic Bullet Looks 1.0, but the order you do things in is the most important aspect...skin tone preservation first...creative color correction second.
