Lighting for DVX100A with the following::......

Hello,

I am a newbie to this site and the filmmaking world, I have however read many articles about lighting and how important proper lighting can give you a closer to Film Look. I am on somewhat of a budget, but my main question is would these lighting sets be useful with the DVX100a in 24Pa ?
Someone with a higher knowledge in lighting please give me advice and suggestions... but the two products I am looking into buying are:

or

Thank You in advance.

Those might be ok as a fill, but the lights they give off are nearly impossible to control, which won't do you much good when trying to create shadows and contrast. Not really designed for film lighting. I would save money and get some tungsten lights with barndoors; Britek is a cheap alternative that's good for practicing.

You really need at least 2 lights, and for $200 there's not much you can get. The stands alone is like half of that.

For the budget you can get some china balls. They're basically paper lantern with bulbs inside that will defuse the lights nicely and you can put them almost anywhere. The components are relatively cheap, you just have to rig up a way to mount them.

I know by now i must come off as a complete NOOb, but i am when it comes
to lighting, but it is very crucial...

Does anyone know if this is more efficient?...

This looks pretty unbelievable... Looks like a real, 1000W halogen softbox with everything included (stands, bag...). It was sold for under 80 USD, which is quite a bargain.
If it really works as well as advertised and doesn't catch fire after 10 minutes or so, then I need one of those!
