Lighting fixture yoke not supporting Chimera Lightbank

Hello,

I just purchased a small Chimera Video Pro Lightbank with the intention of attaching to an old Smith-Victor model 720 1k quartz halogen lamp. It seems that the added weight of the Chimera is more than the Smith-Victor yoke can hold. Once attached, the entire fixture sags until the edge of the Chimera is resting on the light stand, not good. Before going out to buy a new, and more sturdy lighting fixture, I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas on how to increase the tension on the yoke in order to hold the Chimera light bank in place?

2 things you could try:
Switch the tightening knob to the other side of the light so that as the light tilts down it tightens itself rather than loosening itself. Similar to the righty tighty rule with C stand knuckles.

If that doesn't work, maybe try picking up one of these - http://www.coollights.biz/cloth-impregnated-silicone-washer-p-49.html and placing it in between the yoke and the fixture on the side with the tightening knob (not the side with the fixed bolt).

If both of those are already in place and it's still tilting down, my next suggestion would be to buy a better light.

Well the solution was really quite simple. I disassembled the yoke assembly, cleaned off all the nuts, bolts, and washers with a wire brush, then reassembled. In addition to tightening via the large wing nut, I also tighten opposite side with wrench. The fixture is now quite solid.
