Lighting Batman/V for Vendetta (low budget)

Hi guys I'm going to embark on my documentary/trailer about HEROS.
My script will call for several superheros, I've got good replica props and costume and actors to go with them....

The only thing is for characters like V and Batman, I will want to have their scene at night... I am on a tight budget AND this is the first time I'm going to try to light my scenes, so I hope I can do it the DIY style...

Could someone suggest afew options I can take? I was thinking having worklights(how many Watts?), white styrofoam as reflectors, curtains?

also the colour of my lights (So lets say if I decide to change the colour during post, it would still b easily possible)

Need advice...
David

Strong backlight with bouncers. I like that.

For backlight I would use 500w worklight. As refector use what U got and se if that works. Always testshoot before you do the real deal.

When using bounce, a gold bounce (yellow) will really warm up things. If your camera is balanced for the environmental conditions using gold bounce for your key source will give your subjects a nice warm character to their skin tone. Silver bounce (white) is spectrally neutral and is more appropriate for general illumination and when you are not wanting to create a flattering lighting effect.

David: Zul and i discussed it a couple of days ago, and it'll be possible to rent a kit of real DV lights from www.cinegear.biz for roughly 70 to 80 bucks a day singapore dollars. Worth a try - doubt your shoot will be longer than a day, and i don't mind paying some

I say back 3/4 light so it goes down their cheek - both sides if desired ... (and then bounce that to fill in the face a bit if needed.)
