Lighting aircraft in hangars

I'm shooting large aircraft in a giant hangar, using 2 x 1800W Redheads to light the area. There are tungsten lights in the roof which only partially light the aircraft on a dull day.

Sometimes we're near the hangar doors with daylight spilling onto the scene. So I figure I need 3200K > 5600K heat resistant gels on the Redheads. But which ones?

Cheers.

You will want to rent a couple of HMIs. Converting tungsten to daylight is very inefficient and will work OK in a small space. In a large space you will want to get lights that match the color temp of daylight.

Or you can wait until night and light the hangar with tungsten. Unless they're using mercury vapor or other types of light. In which case you'll still need 5600 k lighting.

Compared to the sunlight, even if you don't gel them, those red heads will do almost nothing. Rent some HMIs.

we are working with a 4k hmi par in a production right now and it looks great, its really powerful and it can even fight against the sun in overcast days.
