Lighting a scene set in a dark room?

Just wondering how i should light a scene that's supposed to be in the dark in a house? Three burglars in conversation, no lights are supposed to be on.

Should my lights come from the window? Should I light more than needed and correct in post? What about lighting from below?

Any suggestions would be great as I'm about to start some tests to see what works. I'm going for a blue look.

Motivated moonlight, light 4:1 or so, base level around 15-20 foot candles.
