light streaks

I am trying to create intense "natural" light streaks for a music video.
something like this but more extreme...

is there a filter or a way to do this in AE?

speaking of ira tiffen...the tiffen DFX suite has an awesome array of filters, imo there is one filter which will give u the exact look of ur reference image.

Nah, just put it on a UV filter. you can also hit the lens with colored light to color the streak (ie: emulating the anamorphic blue streak.)

There is a filter for this it is called a 'Streak Filter'.
They Usually come in 1mm - 3mm.
The number refers to how close together the streaks are cut on the glass. The smaller the number the more streaks you have.
I prefer the look of the higher number filters like the 3. It gives you chunkier shafts of light that cut through your image.
The one in your reference pic looks like its a smaller number filter like a 1.

Directional motion blur also will do that in AE.
