Light stands...-:)

Hello.

I have been thinking of buying some lightstands. Would this kind of stand be any good? I have also been thinking of getting Arris fresnels someday...so my question would be, can I use those Arris with this kind of stands? How do I connect them to the stand? :undecided

I recommend single stands. With that stand you will not be able to spread your lights out far enough. Can beat a good old c-stand.

Look for something with metal T-handles. You will be much happier in the long run. The plastic knobs are cool and all, but the first time you drop it or "whatever" in the cold, you're hating life.
Long term gear wins everytime, even if you have to pay a little extra.

I've actually been getting some stands from user dreammaker2 on ebay. I had bought a single 12' a while ago and then bought some Impact brand stands from B&H. The Impact were much lighter-duty than the ones from ebay. So I sent the Impacts back to B&H and managed to get 2 more 12-footers and a backlight stand for around $70 shipped. The stands are all air cushioned and seem very nice, especially for the price. Don't know how they compare to the higher-priced brands as I haven't used any myself. Hope this helps.
