light rays bullet holes trick

I was editing the music video I'm working on, and I was trying to get some nice light rays coming through a window, when I accidentally discovered a cool way to make it look like your actor got shot, and there is light passing right through them.

no mirrors, lol

You duplicate the clip, put it on a track right above the original clip.

Then put on the light rays filter, along with a cookie cutter. you can cut out how much of the clip you want to have light rays in it.

The key is, the actor had some shiny buttons, so when they caught the light, the light rays made them shoot out a bit, making it seem like rays of light are coming out of his body.

I bet you could do this too with a custom-drawn type thing kind of cookie cutter plug-in thing.

That is pretty sweet, thanks for sharing. I think I'll experiment. Sew buttons in different places on the shirt, put stage blood around them. Put reflective circles on the walls and watch the bullets open it up around the talent.
