Gossen makes one for ~$160, but I've never tried it - I'm a big fan of analog readings.

The Sekonic 508 is digital and has both incident and spot.

I use the Sekonic 608 but I believe they no longer manufacture them. Bloody good meter though.

The Spectra 4A is a great incident meter. It will be found on the belts of many gaffers and DP's.

I have seen them for sale to students at a very discounted price.

a spot meter is a good meter to have in your bag. Most spot meters stay in the bag unless a situation arises that calls for them.

I have a Sekonic Dual spot F with the Spectra 4 A and I carry it.

Even the digital meters need to be calibrated every so often, and if you drop it then you should send it in to be recalibrated.

First thing a DP and his Gaffer will do is put their meters under a source and see if they match. EVen when different brands

I gotta agree with 'j' a Pentax Spot Meter V is a great choice for a lot of situations. Add a gray card and you have a really good and repeatable tool.
