Light Glimmer/Aqua Effect in Photoshop?

I know there's got be a tutorial on how to do this effect, but I can't figure out what to Google to find it. Any suggestions?

I want to be able to make my own icon with that "sheen" that makes it look like light is glinting off of it. Thanks for any suggestions, I appreciate it...

make white to transparent gradient

apply gradient.


Alternatively, print photo on plastic, take photo of photo.
