Im looking at buying a video light, After looking at lights I am interest in buying either the Litepanels Micro, or the Smith Victor 950. What would you go with and why? The price is only 100 diffenence. Any and all thoughts on this will be appreciated.

What do you plan to use the light for? The micro wont have nearly the throw of the SV. The battery life and heat output will be better/lower on the micro though. The SV also takes an external battery pack you have to lug around. The micro just needs standard alkalines. Once you factor in the external battery you may find the price difference to be much less.

The lights are going to used for wedding receptions, I want something that would produce a little more light, i dont really mind having that battery pack, just want something that will be able to have good light out put. Normally when i shot a wedding i am about 15 maybe 20 feet away at the most.

at 15 to 20 ft an LED light wont do much good. Even my big ol zylight z90 doesnt do all that much after 10 ft. I would definitely take a look into tungsten power. If you want some real punch the lowel pro-light can be converted to dc power and is a great little inexpensive focusable light. There's a variety of battery belts vests and bricks you can pick from. I dont have alot of experience with them though so I probably cant help you with whats better than what.
