How to make cool light shards on acter faces? Meaning to say, if acter hold up glass of juice to sun and sunlight shine through glass and make a cool shard on face? Moving light with little bit color.

You mean rippling wave reflections? Or light bent by a glass? Why colored? Where's the color coming from? Is it from a colored glass, or colored liquid?

Also what's the scene? Are you using the sun, or was that just an example?

Ideally you would use exactly what you want to replicate. For example if you want water ripples, you would fill a glass with water and shine a light through it onto an actor's face. Movement would help sell it. Same with just glass, shine a light through it at the actors face. Just something small with a punch.

That would be my advice.

Neatly cover a thin glass mirror with clear packing tape. Cover the back of it with gaffer tape. Carefully hit the front of it with a hammer to break it into lots of irregular pieces. Reflect light from the mirror onto the face. Cover part of it with party gels if you want color.

Be careful, don't get anybody cut.

Thank you! That is a genious! I think it works! I try shinning light through bottle and looks like nothing! Lol. Btw what size mirror? Maybe 8" wide? Tomorow I go to glass store and beg them lol.

I buy packs of 12"X12" mirrors. Very cheap and many many uses. Home Depot, Lowes, every one carries these.
