LIBEC TH 950 DV quick release to Glidecam 2000 HD converter gizmo???

Hi

Have this problem:

My Panasonic HMC 151E is mounted on my LIBEC TH 950 DV tripod.
Recently I bought a Glidecam 2000 HD and would like to be able to just release the quick release from my tripod - take my camera and mount it on the Glidecam 2000 using another LIBEC compatible quick release reciever. So in other words what I need is a quick release plate & reciever - like this one: http://www.marcotec-shop.de/en/products/cat_170/detail_2761.htm just for the LIBEC instead - so I don´t need to use any tools if I want to quickly go from tripod to glidecam....

I know I could "just buy a Manfrotto or a Giotto tripod instead and then buy plate & recievers for these products, but I love my LIBEC tripod - wich is almost new - and I have also invested in the remotecontrol unit for this tripod as well.

Any suggestions or possible solutions to this one?

Hi Morten,

I am not aware of a Libec-compatible device such as that, but I could be wrong. Your nearest Libec dealer should be able to help. In the UK, try Ianiro, Googling should give you their contact details. www.libeceurope.com doesn't show anything that matches.

Without replacing your tripod, you could get something like 2 MN577 kits. Put one on your Libec tripod and the other on your Glidecam. Stick one of the mounting plates on your camera and then you can mount the camera on either the tripod or the Glidecam. I have used MN577 and 357 kits on Libec, Sachtler and Vinten tripods, you don't have to change brands.

Only thing is, the MN577 is around 40-45 GBP, and two of those may be too expensive for you.

There may be other, cheaper alternatives.
