Good Evening,
I had no clue what section to post this in as it doesn't fit a specific camera (most of the camera's I see scare me in price and features)
I'd like to film a documentary and I have around $2k to spend on the camera (not included in that price are extra batteries) and maybe I need a light, bag, SD cards, tripod, etc. Or maybe just a really nice camera. Other option would be mid line camera with stable accessories. For sure looking for a wireless mic for the interviews and such.
Bought a Sony CX580, and took it back because of a few different reasons.(the mic was on the front and the wind was bad, I did not yet have my wireless mic, the touch screen a lot of times took 3 or 4 times to activate,) Maybe that is too entry level, maybe not.
I would love to find someone locally to Indiana who would also offer lessons on how to work in a video editing suite (PC only, no Mac available)
There are several examples of things I've shot with a flip, but I want something that looks professional (I wont post links here, but if you want to see what I have made versus what I would like it to look like I'd be happy to)
Currently someone from BH replied that they thought the Vixia HF S30 would be good, but it only shoots 24 and 30 (does that matter, does it need to shoot 60?)
Please just help offer me some suggestions on cameras so I can look at the choices and come up with some decision. The $$ amount is firm and like I mentioned I can walk out with just a camera, or a little less of a camera but with some accessories to get started.
Please feel free to move this to the appropriate section, and THANK YOU.
