also..is it noisy the little vibrating mechanism? can you plug it to the wall? how does it look when static?

We got ours in less than a week.

You cant plug it into a wall, but I have seen someone put a larger rechargeable battery on it somehow.

It's ready to go from the box, but you have to play with it some to get it to work. Especially if you are using a mattebox. Also you definitely need some support for it, be it either a tie rap to the handle of the DVX or a lens support from a rod system.
