Letus35 Extreme vignetting

Okay, I just got an email from my dealer saying that my camera was definitely tested for vignetting before Sony shipped out. I'm not sure if that's a relief or not because I'm not sure what I'm experiencing is normal or if there is actually a problem with the EX1 camera I have.

That definately is not normal and looks like the vignetting issue on the EX1. Just a lot worse then the examples seen on the dvinfonet thread.

You should tell him you definitely want your cam replaced ASAP. That's not acceptable at all.

Jade has a point. If you have another camera to test it on, I would suggest that. maybe go to your dealer and see if they'll let you try it on another EX-1 or SOMETHING.

SteveT over in the Sony forum said it looks normal, I dunno.

I don't know anyone that has a EX1 camera that I can ask them to test this problem.

I just did another test tonight and it doesn't seem to matter which focal length it is.

I'll try to post the stills tomorrow night in the Sony forum.

Doesn't have to be an EX1 camera. It can be any camera, although preferably a prosumer one so that you can control the focus and all that. Where are you located? I'm sure there are someone in your area with a DVX or something like that who can help out.

I'm going to test on the Sony Z1. Hope that will be a fair comparison. By the way, what size of thread is the Z1? I wonder if I can hook up my Letus Extreme adapter to it and do some comparison that way too.

Since I started the thread about my Letus35 adapter, it turns out that the problem stems from the Sony EX1 lens too. In my case, the adapter makes the image looks worse. Anyway, I can't proof that it's all the adapter's fault. So if anyone is interested about my quest on fixing my EX1 camera, follow this thread in the Sony EX1 forum. I have the latest test pictures linked in that thread.

Again, thanks for any kind of help.
