Letus35 Economy vs. Extreme

So from what I'm reading on Letus's website, the Letus Economy has basically all the same qualities as the Extreme. Same light loss, same GG, and now it even has a mount for rails (as it previously did not) and a 3 screw alignment method (also previously did not). So I'm wondering really what the point of paying an extra few hundred dollars is? Is it merely for the aluminum casing as apposed to plastic, and the encasing of the batteries? Has anyone done any comparisons? Is the picture quality different? Do you really get a better image out of the extreme as apposed to the economy? Just curious.

i.e. the extreme is probably sharper edge to edge with a more even distribution of light across the GG.
 
imagine you are the camera. You have to zoom in through the prisms (flip ) onto the ground glass. However the image on the ground glass is too small to fill the frame of your camera, so you put a magnifying glass between you and the GG to enlarge the frame.

In doing so, with cheap optics, you can introduce things such as chromatic abberation, hot spotting, vignetting and soft edge to edge performance. The old Asian macro lenses used to do all of these things.
 
I was also on the fence about EX vs Economy. I was talked into the Lex when I called Hein at Letus and I have to say I do not regret it. I have received the greatest return on investment with the Lex. More than any other single piece of gear my production company has purchased. A great adapter can live longer than a camera and can go on any small format camera that you have. I think it is a sound investment. If you are using your Letus for business go with the extreme.
 
PaPa, I had a feeling that's what it was, thank you for clarifying it for me. Jason, sounds good. I'm planning on getting the extreme as soon as I get a bit of cash saved up. At the same time I'd also like to get a follow focus. Already have some Cavision rails that I've been using with my DIY adapter, so I feel pretty secure with that. I started another thread to get some thoughts and opinions on fallow focus's, but everyone's been pretty quiet about it. If anyone has any thoughts, here's the thread:
