Will i NEED support rods for my DVC30 when i get a letus35 (og) in a week or so? Would i be fine if i just supported with my hand, and didn't leave it sitting by itself on the tripod for too long?
If i would really need support rods, does anyone have any DIY ideas?
Well I went to the Letus website, and the original says it doesnt need rods. Which ver did you order?
However if the manufacturer said you need rods, and you don't use them, even for a minute, you risk damaging your camera or device. I know this from using heavy adapter lenses without rod support. It may break the front of the camera, because your hand will never really hold it steady. Small movements in your hand will still cause the device to pitch and sway.
its just the original letus35. i might end up making some really bad rig to try to support the adaptor a bit (especially if i get a bigger, telephoto lens)
The picture on their site shows it without rods, but I am sure that there a lot of DIY plans to make a decent set of 15mm rods. Also, you may want to try buying a low price one just to get you started, like a used Cavision model or something.
