Letus/Zacuto Cine Kit

I'm thinking about biting the bullet and buying one of these guys primarily for sit-down interviews with either a DVX100B or a Canon XH-A1. A couple of questions for those who have used this kit or something similar:

(1) Assuming I keep the Cine Kit fully assembled, including an attached 35mm lens and tripod base plate - am I right in thinking that attaching it to my camera will be as simple as screwing the camera to the universal base plate, then screwing the Letus to the video camera lens - i.e. quick & easy?

(2) If I intend to use a Nikor 80-200mm ED zoom lens (about 3 lbs) on the Letus, will I need some type of extra support for this long and heavy lens? If so, what would work best in conjuction with the Zacuto rails?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I'd say YES to #1 and Perhaps to #2.

Zacuto rails are 15mm meaning that they will work in conjunction with pretty much any lens support. For instance, check out Redrockmicro's microLenssupport... check out Cavision for something as well.

Zacuto's kits are made to be fast to setup and easily customize. I'd highly suggest buying a foam insert and case from them as well. This will enable you to travel/fly anywhere with your camera ready to go at a moments notice and well protected in the mean time.

The 80-200 nikon would DEFINITELY need some kind of support.

I love the Letus/Zacuto setup myself.

Thanks guys!

One more question: what is your favorite 35mm lens focal length for interior interviews where limited space is sometimes a factor? Like the sample interviews on your nice website, Matt.
