Howdy all,

I've got a Letus Flip Enhanced and a bit of a handyman. I dont mind tinkering. I love the adapter but hate how much light it drinks up! I'm thinking of removing the ground glass with a focusing screen little less translucent.

Theres a Nikon Screen at Samys for $32

Has anyone ever removed the GG to a Letus? I've opened it up and its attached with springs and some rubber stops. Any ideas? I hate to break the darn thing.

If I remember correctly the Letus screen is bigger than any of the 35mm slr screens. Even the Flip E was bigger than academy size. Where are you located I have a Nikon screen you could have, I mean I have absolutely no plans for it.

I'm absolutely sure lol...I have no plans on anymore failed diy attempts:). Its a Nikon F3 screen never opened. PM me an addy and i'll drop it in the mail.

make sure you measure the height of the post before you remove them and then make sure they go in to the same height. I used long needle nose pliers to remove the rubber mounts . just pulling could rip them as they are thin where the base stops in them. The screen is bigger than the nikon screen so you will have to zoom in more but if the light is better it might be worth it

I bought some calipers at Lowe's for $30. Not bad since I've had to crack my LEX open a few times for dust. You'll be able to re-assemble those posts with ease with calipers.

Hi Cinebuddy,

Thanks for the offer. I didnt get back to your post in time and picked up a Canon Ee-A today at the camera shop. I'll give it a whirl, but if it doesn't work, might try the Nikon. Thanks again for the offer!
