Hi all,
So I just picked up a Letus Flip Enhanced from a fellow member on this forum. I did a lot of research before making the decision to buy it, and I read every where that this module is very near silent, but not for me for some reason. Not that it is loud when it is in use, but loud when I playback what I shot with my DVX100B.
When I turn on the module facing down it starts purring, vibrates and I can hear a slight low humming sound and it is near silent, but the problem I think is that I have a panasonic shot gun mic mounted on the handle which happens to protrude right above the Letus module. When I play back the footage I can hear a very obvious low humming sound which is quite loud. I suppose this is pretty obvious, but is the location of the shotgun mic my problem? If it is, why doesn't anyone else have a similar problem with no mounted shot gun mic, and only the built in mic which is also situated right above the letus? Is this normal?
I can think of two solutions:
1. Remove the mic and record off camera
2. Remove it from the handle and attach it to the rails or something.
Can anyone help me out?
Adrian
p.s. I've tried making sure that it is firmly screwed into the DVX mount, I turn until I can't anymore. I've also tried turning down the levels of the mic, but perhaps not enough (?)
