Letus Extreme or Brevis

I realy need help

I have the XH-A1 I just cant deside, if I sould get the Letus Extreme or the Brevis35.

I was orginaly going for the Brevis but after I saw some images from the Letus Extreme I can't deside. Shutter speed does matter to me and I was told that the Brevis get's grainy at 90, and than I saw some footige shot with the Letus at 120 and it looked great.
I was also told that the Brevis tends to show some hot spots, and the letus doesn't.
Altough the Brevis seemes to be more field tested.

I'm going to use it to make everything from short's to fetures(when that does eventually happen).

Thanks

the Brevis I had goes up to 120 too before gain, sometimes up to 250 but it depends on the lens and CF tthat you are using. If high shutter is an issue for you. You should get the SGPRO with the Brevis flip unit.

As David said, no one has put the 2 side by side yet and in many ways they , at least from a distance, sound similar in terms of grain and overall speed.

The Brevis does not have hot spots when configured correctly! A lot of early footage out there was done with our first imaging element CF1, which became CF1L in the spring, and now CF1Le. In other words, we've invested heavily so that a waveform monitor will show a flat, flat line accross the entire projected surface. That's why we can honestly advertise a field of view potentially wider than the 36mm SLR film frame. It's also why we allow folks to choose CF1 or CF1L depending on their application when ordering the Brevis unit. The cheap way to do this (one setup for everything) is to just telll folks to zoom in more....but this makes that nice 28mm more like a 50mm when you're done. There's some very cool options coming in the interchangeable imaging element department, which means existing users can drop them in, in 2-3 minutes :)

Oscillation tuning will get you to 1/250s with CF1L or CF1Le.

Disjecta's already shown the potential of a beta model with the XH-A1, your cam. It's edge-to-edge sharp, sees a 1/120 shutter speed and looks great all around. It's going to be hard choosing one based on the words of others. If you find good Letus EX footage and compare it to Brevis footage, people are going to say it's an unfair comparison because of the operators.

I guess until the LetusEX hits the hands of more users, we won't know much more. Til then, Disjecta's A1 footage says a lot.

Thanks for all your replies.

Is the Brevis sharper then the LE(I know it has often alot to do with the lenses)

I bought the Glidecam X-10 the other day and so I'm also thinking about how heavy the adaptors are...cinevate sais that the brevis is 270gr but thats without a flipsso how much would it be with the cinevate flip?...the FE is 3 lbs.

And does the Brevis flip use mirrors or prisms?

From looking at pictures the Brevis rig looks bigger then the LE, or I'm I just seeing things :)
