Letus Extreme Mounts

Sorry but one last question has come to mind reading through people.s posts - regarding lens attachment to the letus. I plan to get the Nikon Locking Mount as I already have plenty of Nikon lenses and no Cannons. Is it really not a system where the lens locks on securely...it uses external screws to hang it on instead of the mount? I've never physically used a 35mm adapter before, so excuse me of my ignorance if this is how all the adapters are. But I assumed the unit would have the mount, the lens would go on it, like it goes on an SLR camera and that would be it...no? From reading other posts it seems that the lens - although secure - does not really go on this easily? Or is that because people are using the switchable cannon/nikon mount? Thanks so much again. EDIT - and damn it all, one last thing - the batteries - how long does a set last you?

If you get the Nikon locking mount, your lens will lock securely in place with a click. It will not come off unless you press down the locking device to release the lens. This is what I use.
