Hi,

All you hvx200 and letus extreme users outhere I was wandering, how did your backfocus procedure went through.

What are your ZOOM SETTINGS and FOCUS SETTINGS, what did you use to properly setup the backfocus?

How to properly lock the focus ring once it is set in place? What are your suggestions?

One more thing...when setting up my hvx200 and letus ex rig I noticed one thing...I couldn fully-squarely center the ground glass...when I allgn the horizontal line of the gourn glass with my hvx200 I notice the frame is slightly moved to the right side...is this normal??....basically what it forces me to do is to zoom a little more than I would of have if the vertical lignes were also squarely centered...

this offset is normal, but due to what i am not so sure.

This is partly the reason one needs to zoom in far enough, but it also doesn't get in the way for framing things in proper 35mm ratio. Not sure about the HVX, but people here have figured out a way to find out the zoom numbers.

on the canon XH A1, its focus at 4.9 feet, and zoom 78. ( with a UV filter infront of the camera )

Zoom in until the edge of the GG dispears.

Turn the vibration OFF

Point the camera at a bright light or white wall.

Focus on the GG grain. Roll back and forth until the grain is sharp s possible.

Turn ON vibration *gasp* where did the grain go!

It's really that simple.

Gaff tape.

I think that my be normal. We used LE on my last shoot, and I have my own coming in the mail, but I've used other the LA (advanced) for two years and it had that offset.

It seems to be common or perhaps even typical ( i'm not sure which) for a Letus Extreme on the HVX , but it is not so true for other adapters . The HVX is known for to having loose tolerances on the alignment of the image block but it sounds like a more serious issue with the Extreme. I don't know why.
