I've been using Letus Economy adapter for couple of months. I'm very dissatisfied with its edge-to-edge sharpness (should I say softness?). Does anyone here experience similar problems or it is only my case? Maybe I just bought the lemon...
When I try to capture the entire 35mm frame (I mean photo 36x24mm frame - I use Canon FD lenses) only the central 1/3rd of the image is acceptably sharp! I have to set my camera lens at f4.0+ and zoom it further cropping the frame significantly to improve the sharpness - obviously this has several drawbacks (limited DOF, increased focal length of the 35mm lenses and severe light loss) and still does not result in sufficient edge-to-edge sharpness. I heard that Letus dedicated HVX200 achromat would help - unfortunately it cannot be easily mounted on Letus Economy adapter - this is what I was told by Letus support. Is there anyone who succeeded in mounting this achromat to Letus Economy adapter? If this can't be done I will get SGPro - saw some footage and the sharpness was outstanding. It is said to loose more light - but my Letus looses even more, considering the crop and the fact my camera lens is always at f4.0 or more... Also, being able to stop the 35mm lens down past f4.0 would be nice...
