Just wanted to post a note. I shot some commercials yesterday and for the first time I mounted the Letus Extreme the way that Philip Bloom recommends.
I noticed that mounting the letus the other way ( rotating the ring onto the cam while still attached to the Letus) did not always get the optics on perfectly straight and flat to the mount. This would cause some edges of the frame to be a bit soft.
I don't know why I never thought of It before but removing the ring from the letus first is easier, faster, and helps guarantee a flush mount to the camera to get best edge to edge.
I am sure this will be no great revelation to most of you, but it was to me so I was just sharing.
Thanks Mr. Bloom
