Letus and rod support questions.

I've been doing tons of research and I can't find any specific answers to some of my questions, I was hoping some of you could give me your feedback. Sorry if the answers to these questions are out there I just couldn't find them for the 2 days I have been searching the boards.

I am purchasing the letus extreme in the next couple days and I had a question about getting rod supports for it.

I was looking to get the cavision or indifocus rails, the only thing is that I have a chrosziel mattebox that I would like to put on there as well.

So the question is, with my HVX200 what length of rods do I need, and how do I get the mattebox to mount to the rails, B&H sells the matteboxes with rail attachments but I can't find the infividual thing that goes between the rails and the mattebox.

I've looked at the indifocus and the cavision rails and it doesn't look like theres room for a mattebox and the letus at the same time, am I wrong?

Also how do I get the mattebox to fit around the different photographic lenses I will put on the letus, do I just put it in front of the lens? That seems like it would let light in from the sides. or should the lens go through the mattebox, in that case there would be no space for the 4x4 filters.

I've new to this so please don't mind my not knowing the specifics.

Can anyone help me with specific item names or numbers, or suggest a setup that would work best for this.

I got the cavision rails and added a manfrotto universal sliding plate on it to rise the camera abit so that it can take a follow focus unit and also a mattebox.

Most people buy the Letus rods , and I've seen some with two sets of rails. some also use the zacuto rails and the z-riser . Well the idea is as long as it works. I'm happy with my set up.

I'm very confident to say that cavision rails are 15mm exactly . Not sure about the rest ,as some people have complains about other companies rods not being exactly 15mm. Hence the problems of not fitting the standard 15mm gears.

You can also check out Cinevate rails for the Extreme.

You need at least 45cm and above for a set to accommodate a follow focus , mattebox ,short lens, letus extreme and camera

Well, cavision doesn't sell rails of longer then 25cm off the shelves . But you can contact them if you need longer rails then the standard ones of 25cm.

Letus rods are now exactly 15mm, some of the earlier units (including mine) were faulty and they were quickly replaced by Letus. I have the 60cm rod and it's just enough for a full Letus, follow focus and mattebox combo, with a bit of room in the back. I would consider 60 cm to be minimum, especially since the Letus rod comes with handy 15cm couplers that can be added for length and remove for storage.
