I just got the Letus Ultimate and am considering getting the Full Frame relay lens for my EX3. Have you experienced any issues using your relay lens? What are the biggest advantages it offers? Of course, I'm looking for reasons why I need to spend another $3,000 and trying to justify whether or not it's worth the cost or if shooting through my EX3 stock lens isn't all that bad. Any light you can shed is appreciated. Thanks.
I have had a FFrame relay now for a while now, and it"s been great. I was not wanting to deal with a zoom factor on all my lens. I wanted a 50 to be a 50 etc. I have a 5 lens Zeiss ZF set made for FF. Not having the stock lens to deal with is great. My only concern sometimes is on the wider lens 28 and lower they tend to vignette some, more of a iris darkening. I think it's just a aspect of FF. Plus your DoF is a little more shallow do to the larger plane. So once again focus is ultra criticial. And some clients love the vignette. More "Top Gear" ish. Also this can easliy be fixed in post. It's a hard one to do, FF or Academy. If I had to do it over I might have gotten the Academy and been fine with a 18mm becoming a 26mm , your into the lens a little more so less vignetting, DoF is a bit more forgiving. It's a toss up kinda...
