Letterbox ?

Wonderinleg how to make my DV Video 4:3 to look like Widescreen. In other words, I want to put the letterbox bars on the top and bottom.

The way I shot the footage, I took the letterbox bars into account so I don't want to squeeze the image at all... I just want to put the letterbox bars overlayed over the top and bottom end of the image.

Played with Vegas for a while but strange things were happening (bars appearing on the side or image getting squeezed)

please help!!

Better thing to do is to use a Widescreen project -- one of the DV Widescreen projects -- and then crop the footage -- go into pan/crop, then right-click and choose "Match output source."

OK. Nice!! But one more question... how do I crop the whole film/sequence? I just know how to crop events....

Still new to Vegas and though I'm starting to really, really dig the workflow, I feel a bit like a monkey lost in the desert.

Drop the whole project into a Widescreen project (as a nested project) and it will become one big event. Then crop it. This is like nested comps in After Effects. Do this as a last step before rendering.
