Letterbox from DVX100a

I shot some stuff in letterbox mode on my DVX100a - I know everyone prefers to shoot full screen and letterbox later, and that on the 100a it isn't true 16x9, but I wanted to shoot in that fashion.

My question is did I capture correctly? I used the Easy Set Up 24 Advanced pulldown removal, at first I checking the Anamorphic 16x9, but it looked stretched to me so I sticked with the preset.

So did I capture correctly and is a full screen timeline correct for this? I remember capturing Letterbox in Vegas once and the black bars were chopped off on capture. Thanks!

No... you can't capture with the letterbox chopped off.

Did you shoot 24pA?

Yes I did shoot 24pa

So I guess it's 4x3 for the edit as well?

I'm sure everyone knows but for those few who don't - batch capture EVERY shot when shooting 24pa, capturing the entire tape will only result in out of sync audio and many many frames missing

There are ways to put your 4:3 into a 16:9 and upscale to 133.33. That will take away the black bars. But since you shot that way one must assume you wanted it.
