We all love movies. All we can do is hope to inspire others to love them as well.

Today we had a bus goto the poorest school in town, pick-up every student and teacher, and take them to see a movie. Unfortunately, we couldn't wait for the Zombie Fest so we had to see "Herbie: Fully Loaded".

Most of the children are orphans and have never been to a movie theater. It was great to see their big eyes looking around, pointing up at the projection room, eating their candy, and laughing everytime Herbie did something funny.

Best $50 I ever spent!

I spent some time in south east Asia (including Thailand) myself. This totally reminds me of being there and spending time in schools. I have to admit your post got me a bit emotional. I wish I had something better to say but, you are doing a great thing. Proud of you buddy. :thumbsup:

Someone should pay attention in Oslo. Stuff like this is worth a Nobel Prize.
 
..thats awsome! i hope they remember it for a long time.. and maybe even it wil inspire one of them to become a filmmaker.

PDX, Joe, Wade, Terry, Kyle, Xcheck, Isaac, Prairie, Horse, iamloser, Spider (I think?), Hunter, Barry - Ahhhhh shucks. You all would have done the same thing. Anyone whose paid $8 for a movie ticket can appreciate a good deal when he sees one.

I felt weird sharing this because it's such a blatant "hey, pat my back" post but, because it was movie related, I thought it might make you smile. ...Plus, you can't keep video of a bus load of kids singing a hard rock song to yourself. That would be wrong. :)

Barry and Terry - There is a boys orphanage and a girls orphanage outside of town. If you want to donate then I will find out how many students there are and how much we need. It can be a DVXuser or a "Barry and Terry" Movie Event. :) I only make $250/mo so I can't do another one for a while. ...But I'm not going to stop others from spending their money :)

Ok, I paypaled some dosh for the next movie trip. The only stipulation is that the children may not *under any circumstances*, be allowed to see Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo. Other than that, run with it and post some pics. Everywhere I look, I see bad news, so it's cool to see something so positive--thanks for sharing it.
