let there be adapter light....

How's this for a newbie question. I recently finished building a vibrating 35 mm lens adapter. I have to say that it works awesome in the sunlight. However, indoors, it's like I put a blanket over the lens. Besides the obvious (lighting up the set), is there anything I can do to the adapter to "enhance" its light issue. If you have any questions about the camera, take a look at it under my albums...thanks in advance!

Well, that looks like a rather large lens you have on it, and that could be eating up quite a bit of light on its own. Most people use the fastest lenses they can get their hands on (lenses with a low f-stop). That would be the first place to start, and then obviously light up the interiors appropriately.

Well literally start with the fastest nikon lens that you have.
I have a set of old nikkor (nikon) prime lenses (from the 1960's and 70's); 85mm (f1.8), 50mm (f1.4), 35mm (f2), plus a Vivitar nikon mount 28mm (f.2) and a Helios nikon mount 53mm (f.2).

Of those the 50mm was the workhorse; nice fast lens, and it could be used in most scenarios except where I needed a wider shot (usually indoors). The 35mm and 28mm had to be used when I had to get a wider shot but couldn't get any further away from the subject (only really an issue indoors).

The 85mm was a fantastic lens for very narrow depth of field shots, but limited in use to very specific tight shots.
