Lenses for DVX100

About a month ago I purchases my baby from an internet site, it's totally awesome (not a refurb or grey market, etc.) With help from my dad I got scammed into purchasing some lenses I figured would come in handy, unfortunately, they screwed me and sold me 62 mm lenses with an adapter. Now, I get some terrible vignetting, the lenses serve no purpose whatsoever, I plan on calling them up to return the bullshit lenses. Now, I'm in the market for a wide angle 72mm lens. Any suggestions? Thanks.

cavision makes a nice wide angle.. its expensive $500, and there is distortion, but you cant escape that really on the DVX's lens.

Re: Lenses for DVX100

Why not? I'm using a .6 wide angle on my sony and I get no distortion that I can notice. It is because the built in lens of the DVX100 is already wide?

Jarred,

Hi, I am planning to wide-angle lens as well. At this moment I set my mind on the VS-07CV-DVX 0.7 wide angle. Since it said is build for the DVX, so I don’t have to worry about getting step-up/down ring, but how about the quality? Do you have any experience with this lens? Thank you for your help. ;D

exactly.. the dvx's lens was built on the wide lens rather than the long end, and adding to that your really pushing it.

.7 is a great lens, and is about as powerful as you can go wide without excessive distortion.

Re: Lenses for DVX100

The DVX's stock lens has a bit of barrel distortion in it already. Shoot a rectilinear scene on full wide-angle and you'll see a little bit of bowing at the edges. Because the camera's lens already has some barrel distortion, I doubt you'll ever find a circumstance where an add-on wide-angle lens doesn't exaggerate that distortion.
