Thank you so much for all your responses so much.

If you are investing in a $1300 piece of equipment I think you can make time to read up on the VAST amounts of information in this very subforum in your search for a lens.

Low light and cinemalike quality don't go together 99+% of the time.

Here's a good starting kit using Nikon 35mm lenses (these are affordable, there are many others that are much more expensive):

Nikon 28mm f2.8
Nikon 50mm f1.8 or f1.4
Nikon 100mm E series f2.8 (this is a great value lens, very cheap on eBay)

Others to consider if you are willing to spend a little more money:

Nikon 24mm f2.8
Nikon 85mm f1.8
Nikon 135mm f2.8

This will give you a lens for just about any situation you may find yourself in. If you need a longer reach, you can simply use the built in lens of your camera or consider getting something like a Nikon 200mm f4 lens which I have used for sports events quite successfully.

You will see things like "AI" and "Non-AI", etc., but most adapters with a Nikon mount will accept any type of the older Nikon lenses.

It does seem to me, however, based on your post, that you have a lot to learn so the best advice I can give you before you buy anything is to read about 35mm adapters and look at the abundance of footage that is posted on DVXUser. In nearly every case, the filmmaker names the kinds of lenses used.

It's very easy to pay thousands of dollars for lenses but you should start off with something much more economical and, if you want to move up from there, you can always sell the lenses again on eBay for about the same price.

I'll second what Disjecta said about the 100mm E Series f2.8, it's an awesome lens for the money. Almost as good a deal, price/performance-wise, as the 50mm f1.4. I have those two lenses plus a 24mm f2.0 for my basic kit now and it's serving me well :)

From what I hear the 85mm f1.8 is fantastic as well, so I might look into that one next...
