Hey, someone mentioned to me getting a lense adpater to make my footage more film like. I looked at the guerilla, but, it's not going to be in for another few months. Can anyone else reccomend something similar. Something that I can buy. Maybe even someone's home-made. I'm open to any suggestions cause I'm shooting a music video in about 2 weeks and i really want to get a nice lense or something to get that look. Thanks.

I believe you'll need to choose a 35mm lens. I don't think the adaptor comes with one, but not sure. Check with Redrock, what all comes in their packages.

Can you give me some good ones cause I dont even know where to start.

I'm just learning all of this too so hopefully someone with more knowledge will come along and back me up or correct me.

Not all adapters support the same lens types. I believe the M2 supports several types of lenses. When you order the M2 you have to specify what types of lenses you will be using so they can include the proper mount.

Next you can go to eBay and search for the appropraite lenses.

Let's say you decide you want to use Nikon F mounts. You would order the M2 and specify the Nikon F mount. When you receive your adapter it will be equiped to handle Nikon F mount lenses. You can then shop on eBay and find the Nikon F type lenses you want. These lenses are not very expensive so you may be able to pick up a few of them.

Hope this helps.

Thanks that really helped a lot. But how do you choose if you want nikon or wtvr and then how do you choose which one?

That one does take 4-6 weeks minimum so does anyone know of anything similar?

I'm shopping too and I haven't found all the answers yet. If I could purchase an M2 and get it in a couple of days I would probably order it right now. It seems like a solid product. It also has the follow focus that will be coming out soon.

There are several adapters available and several threads that go into detail about them. Here is a link to some more info: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?t=46331

This is a list of the ones I know of:

Mini35 / Pro35 from P+S Technik. These are the high-end adapters. They are apparently very nice but very expensive.

M2 by RedRock Micro. This one is in production but takes 4-6 weeks for delivery.

G35 from Cinemek. This looks like it is going to be a big winner but it isn't available yet. Looks like it may be weeks or months before they ship.

GS35. I don't know much about this one.

Go35 by DVX User bklyndv.

iFocus by DVX User twocik23.

MPIC by Dan Diaconu. This one is very interesting. According to their website they are taking orders for April delivery. I guess they take just so many orders and then that's it. It's more expensive than most of the others listed here but they claim their adapter does not lose any light.

As far as lenses go I have no idea. This is all new territory for me. But some people have posted messages here about getting lenses off of eBay for very reasonable prices ($50-$500).
