Lensbaby on 35mm adapter

I read an article a few months ago about people putting Lensbabies on the front of cinema cameras. Has anyone tried mounting a Lensbaby to their 35 mm adapter?

I'd be interested in seeing footy, hearing your thoughts. I may buy one anyway for my DSLR, but was hoping it could do dual duty if I get an adapter for my EX-1.

Thanks

I have some test footage around my multiple hard drives (Like 5+), I will see if I can dig it up. It looks really cool. I was using one of the original lens babies not one of the new ones. One area is basically in focus and the surrounding area has a nice blur to it. I have seen it done on a 5d Mk 2 and it looked really cool too. I am not sure where the short is with the footage though.

I found it too soft in general. Also the way a lens baby works the area in focus is quite small at wide open apertures which you need to avoid static grain with the Brevis which I was using. It might work better with a spinner where you could get beyond 5.6 and have a larger area in focus.

Its a cool idea but doesn't work as well as a full fledged tilt shift lens.

Actually now that I have a blade it might be worth a second look - esp on exteriors.

The reason I bought an adapter (Brevis) was to use a Lens Baby and other strange and home-made lenses. In short it's awesome.

I also use the LB Wide Adapter (and sometimes stop it down) because the effect is too strong otherwise.

Unfortunately it needs so much light that you can only use it outside to get proper exposure unless you have a very large light kit.

i do it all the time. it's awesome. if you watch "the diving bell and the butterfly", you'll see it in action.

stopping down the LB with the little discs makes a huge difference. when wide open, the "sweet spot" is tiny and hard to nail any kind of focus.

also, the new lensbaby composer isn't great for video. when twisting the focus ring the lens element jumps around a bit causing a jittery shifts in the image. the build quality of the composer is kinda cheesy. this wouldn't affect stills but bad for video. better to use the old LB 2.0 or 3g, and the new versions "muse", or "control freak".

Darn. Ordered the Composer last night. :(
