is there a all purpose lens that does both close up and wide angle or do i have to buy a lens for each purpose close and wide.

The lens in the DVX does a pretty good job at both, though you can get add-ons to do either better.

I love how wide the lens is on the dvx100a I've yet to find a reason that I'd put an adapter to make it even wider on. However the zoom for certain things could use a little more distance but for anything I do It would never be worth the $800 bills for the lens.
