Lens Recommendations for Brevis?

Hey Guys,

Im currently using a 50mm planar Zeiss 1.4 with a brevis non-flip.

I want to get another couple lenses. What would you reccomend getting?

For instance what Soom lenses or wide angles lenses, and what best aperture settings?

Its for a nikon mount.

thanks in advance.

That's easy. The best wide angle performance you'll see on your Brevis is from the Nikon 17-35mm f2.8D zoom. As far as a few more lenses to expand your collection on the longer focal lengths, the Zeiss 85 and 100mm macro are amazing lenses. I also like the 70-200 f2.8D Nikon zoom.

Cheers,
Dennis.

Both AI and AIS and even non AI will work on most adapters.
I don't know why but all the AI lenses I've purchased had lots of dust in them - probably due to their age but you may have more luck. It's best to buy it from someone you know of course so you can check it out. Also my most recent purchase on Ebay of a Nikon 135mm AI had a very stiff focus, really bad for focus pulling. I don't know why but I've had bad luck with Nikons and Mamiyas on Ebay - I'm burnt out on having 1/3 of the stuff I bought having problems some of which I found too late.

For mid-telephoto if you can't afford the very well regarded Zeiss 100mm macro (and not many of us can :) try the Nikon 105mm F2.5. It's legendary for its sharpness. Both AI and AIS versions are good but it's not considered a "macro" lens. I've owned three versions at one point and they were all great. Also the Nikon 85mm are nice too but I've always preferred the flatter perspective of the 105mm's for beauty shots.

what about DX lenses (no aperture ring)?

i have nikon d3000, also im buying 35mm adapter for my camcorder. Im thinkin to purchase one prime lens that i can use on both of them.

D3000 can work (auto-focus) only with AF-S DX lenses
